Our handsome lad, Blake, has a heart full of love to give to some lucky family! He's a real gentleman who travels well in the car and is an absolute joy to be around – our volunteers love how great he is with everyone he meets and he has the most amazing ears that never seem to know which way they are meant to go!   Blake is looking for a home where he can relax and enjoy his well-deserved retirement.  He's been out on regular weekends foster with Home Run Hounds' volunteers, Kay and Pete,  who absolutely adore him but sadly aren't in a position to adopt.    At home Blake is an absolutely gorgeous boy. He loves a squeaky toy, cuddles,  and likes to follow you around. There’s definitely no bed, food or toy guarding. He likes to give kisses and loves a good roach. We have seen Blake have two very young children pet him now & he’s more than happy around them.  While Blake is a wonderful companion, he can get a bit worried around other dogs especially around smaller, fast-moving variety, and in busier environments, but he's getting better and better every day. He gets on very well with other greyhounds and has always shared his kennel with  greyhound girls.  We've discovered that Blake feels most comfortable and relaxed in calm, peaceful environments where he can enjoy leisurely strolls. He's shown great progress in quieter areas and has even learned to calmly walk past ducks and other dogs if they're not too close with the help of encouraging words and tasty treats! Could you be the understanding and patient person or family that Blake needs? He's looking for a home where:  * His walks can be in quieter areas, away from busy dog parks or areas with lots of off-lead activity but he's very fond of a pupcup from the local coffee shop!   * His new family will be understanding of his worries and continue to use positive rewards during walks.  * He'll receive plenty of love, gentle guidance, to help him feel safe and secure.  * You will supply him with endless cuddles and squeaky toys to play with.
